We are looking to expand our team with a motivated and compassionate individual to join us as a Full-Time Kennel Attendant.

Job Description:

As a Kennel Attendant at Springfield Animal Hospital, you will be responsible for caring for our hospitalized and boarding animals in a clean, safe, and healthy environment. You will work closely with our veterinary team to ensure all animals receive the proper care and attention they need during their stay.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas by cleaning cages, runs, and common areas.
  • Feed and provide fresh water to animals as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any changes to the veterinary staff.
  • Walk and exercise dogs as needed.
  • Assist with bathing and grooming animals.
  • Ensure animals are safe, comfortable, and cared for during their stay.
  • Assist veterinary staff with animal handling and restraint when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required. 
  • Passion for animals and a strong desire to provide high-quality care. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness. 
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
